My Opinion

This is for all the retail store owners of Tru-Serv Canada Inc.

Country Depot Stores
Pet Junction Stores
True Value Stores, Tru-Value Hardware Stores
V&S Stores/ V&S Options

Here's the facts.

You and I both thought and were lead to believe that Tru-Serv Canada Inc. was supposed to get you the best products for your stores.  Products that had sales history, great consumer satisfaction, as well and perhaps most importantly, the best possible profit for you on every unit sold.  At least that's what we are all lead to believe.

The fact is it's not that way at all at your head office Tru-Serv Canada Inc.  Here's just one example.

You stores used to purchase Liqui-Fire Liquid Pipe Thaw direct from myself, the inventor and manufacturer.  The profit you enjoyed per each unit sold was $6.00 per litre sold.  When I talked to your head office I was told they switched to supplying all of the stores above with the knock-off by Recochem.  I was told it was easier for the buyer, Luc Roy.  Looking at the profit margin per each unit you sell, you are losing money.

And that's Tru-Serv Canada Inc. looking out for your stores best interest.

It seems most of you chose to order direct from Woodsmans International and I thank you.

This sends a clear message to your head office that they are to do their best for you.  It also sends a clear message to Recochem that the marketplace won't tolerate this.  If you are curious as to how much of an issue this is to online consumers try the following.

Many online shoppers search online for the store of choice followed by a comma then the name or category of interest.  E.G. "Canadian Tire Stores" , hardware.  Try searching Yahoo Canada for that.  Now try it with your store banner in quotation marks.  (quotation marks eliminates results that don't have the exact name) then the comma which gives the user the next field of interest to be searched.

Now you can see that it's becoming a bigger issue than even Recochem thought it would be.  And it comes up when you search "Tru-Value, hardware" as well as many many others.  I guess the Canadian Tire investors aren't too happy about it either.  Most Canadians believe corporations offer deals and royalties but I guess Recochem is only interested in it's bottom line and not those store owners that carry it's products.  Products like windshield washer fluid, brake fluid, camp fuels, STP Oil and Gas Additives, ArmorAll Car Care Products and many other products made by Recochem.

So there you have it.  Recochem doesn't care about your store nor business ethics.  Your head office?  Well I'll leave that decision up to you.
