Yesterday, December 17 2008 S. Jose Home Hardware Store from Toronto called here pretending to be the police.  This once respected franchise has stooped to new lows in breaking the law.

Responses from Ethical Store Owners and from the Criminal Owners

Ethical Store Owner statement: "I'd been affiliated with Home Hardware for more then a decade but we have different views.  I now am affiliated with another banner"

Response: "Wow that's standing up for what you believe in!"  "Home Hardware lost the support of an entire building center rather then change it's practices."

Criminal Store Owner statement: (Island Home Hardware) "You're an ass"

Response: You are reading it.  I would rather live being honest even if it meant being poorer rather then side with crime.

Ethical Store Owner's Statement: "I was told you it wasn't available or the warehouse would have it."  "It sold great when I had it so can you send me a case please?"

Response: "Certainly Sir, and it's always shipped free to honourable businesses."

Ethical Store Owners and Criminal Ones made these statements;

Criminal's Statement:  "If you want to play with the big boys you have to play by their rules."

Response:  "I disagree with breaking the law just because you break the law."

Criminal's Statement:  "You should clear it with me first before you send out a fax like that",

Response:  "I sent faxes out when you were still working as a yard laborer long before you became a store owner"

Criminal's Statement:  "I disagree with your statement of the economy",

Response:  When I asked what he disagreed with he said, "all of it."  He was obviously not well educated as reflected by his remark.  That being the case, I thought I should ask the criminal Home Hardware Store owner above if he called President Bush.  But you can't argue logic with someone that can't see the forest for the piece of a tree being sold.

To all store owners:

It is up to you to control your head office as you are the owners of it.  The law should be easily upheld by you as a leader.  Some are upholding the law and have taken corrective measures.  Louis the owner of Valley Sports and Home Hardware in Rosthen Saskatchewan, and others accept that Home Hardware Stores LTD is breaking the law and chose to do nothing.  He and some others simply don't want to be referred to as criminals who are a member of a retail gang of lawbreakers.

To the many store owners who sell Liqui-Fire Pipe Thaw I appreciate your ethics and respect for the laws of Canada.
