This is a modern day actual story about David and Goliath. My name really is David and in this story of fact, Goliath in my opinion is represented here as Home Hardware Stores Ltd.

I'm a person. I'm just an everyday person like everyone of you. I have dreams, ambitions, and family. I laugh at funny things, I cry when a sad movie plays, and blood flows through my veins. I was a newspaper boy, I give blood, I gave all my cash to the homeless on Valentines Day, I write songs and play guitar, I'm a romantic, I've sent flowers and cards, and I'm a person. I am not an entity like a corporation. The face you see here is really myself. I have morals, that's who I am. I'm hard working honest man. I say, "Yes Sir," and "God Bless," and "Thank you Ma'am." I wrote a special poem for my Mother that made her cry. I have a family with children that I wish to leave my business to when the time comes that I pass away. When I die, most of my dreams and inventions might never be seen and used by thousands as we all know our kids don't have the same goals and ambitions as we ourselves do. So in other words, when I die my business probably will as well.

A corporation is NOT a person. Home Hardware Stores Ltd. is not a person in any way, shape, or form. Its a national corporation. The man who once steered this corporation does not run it. The friendly "folks" you see on television might just be helpful and I agree some of them certainly are but those people you see on television are not the corporation. It doesn't go home at the end of the day because its an entity. When you or I are dead and gone Home Hardware Stores Ltd. is still a corporation no matter what. Its powerful, has had many successes, and it was founded on firm ethical ideas and the practicing of these ethics but that was years ago.

I must remind you that this is my opinion and its based on my research and the information that the corporation of Home Hardware Stores Ltd. bombards us with on television and online, and in our mail boxes, etc. etc. etc.

To simplify why this disagreement is here in the first place is easy.

It's similar to identity theft. Home Hardware Stores Ltd. is using my recognized product photo and identity against my permission and they and/or an associate get all the benefits knowing this is actually causing loss of sales for me.

This is where you, the public are informed and kept up to date on the legal issues surrounding issues (legal or not) regarding the practices of Home Hardware Stores Ltd. In my opinion they are unethical (legal or not) and Woodsmans International is challenging Home Hardware Stores Ltd. regarding its practices outlined in the Canadian Competition Act.

First you will be informed of the existing circumstances which brought attention to this matter.

This is the first letter sent to me January 31, 2007 by Home Hardware Stores Ltd. attorney.

This letter was sparked after I had contacted Home Hardware Stores Ltd. on several occasions and was unable to have information and the using of my product Liqui-Fire Pipe Thaw changed on its Home Hardware Information System. The request I had made was both verbally on the telephone and in a fax. Click Here to see this fax. Home Hardware Stores Ltd was using my product Liqui-Fire Pipe Thaw to redirect sales to another product. The knock-off product is manufactured by an associate corporate member of the C.C.S.P.A. (Canadian Consumers Specialty Products Association). It happens that Home Hardware Stores Ltd. is also a corporate member of this association.

I invented Liqui-Fire Pipe Thaw and developed a consumer awareness and market for internal liquid pipe thawing. And so there I was, the little fish in the sea of sharks. My concerns and request were ignored by Home Hardware Stores Ltd. and instead it stated the practice is legal and ethical before hanging up. To this date, Home Hardware Stores Ltd. denies any wrongdoing, whether legal or not, ethical or not. You be the judge on that one. Home Hardware Stores Ltd. continue to use my product Liqui-Fire Pipe Thaw to redirect all interest by retailers and consumer alike plus all my sales.

Home Hardware Stores Ltd. had absolutely ignored my request to stop this practice that was unethical in my opinion. Home Hardware Stores Ltd. had brazenly informed me its practice is legal and ethical to use my property to purposefully convert interest in Liqui-Fire by redirecting all retailers and consumer alike (plus all my sales) to a knock-off competitor, I decided I would create a phony business to see the reaction I might get from Home Hardware Stores Ltd. I created a logo with a couple of uniquely different "h's" and placed them in a house. I called it, "Happy Home" posted up some services and had a few business cards printed. Then I posted a dozen or so on a couple of highly visible local bulletin boards. In less than a month, Home Hardware Stores Ltd. had its attorney serve me with the above document. First on January 30, 2007 by a 20 page fax which was received by the general fax that anyone can view. A similar or likened copy was Purolatored the next day January 31 2007. It is a whopping 78 pages in total. I'm certainly impressed by it. It looks like a good scare tactic to me.

In Conclusion: Home Hardware Stores Ltd. had given me 10 days to stop using my logo as it may possibly be mistaken for its own. The last paragraph on the file above states that I have posted various derogatory allegations concerning Home Hardware Stores Ltd. and its business practices.
