"For God so loved the world" For God so loved the world that he gave us; 1st - His Ten Commandments And God spoke saying, Remember to keep the Sabbath Holy. He didn't ask nor say could you try please, please, pretty please. God (keyword) COMMANDED us to do so. Some think it doesn't apply today but, remember that Jesus overturned the vendors tables on the Sabbath. (New Testament) We all agree and know the Bible clearly states that Jesus died so that our sins MAY be forgiven. Church leaders love to remind us of that verse. What church leaders fail to state is that we must believe as well as live by God's commandments and the word of Jesus Christ Himself. Here is the connection; in the new testament Jesus said, "Now go and sin no more!" And the only clearly stated reference to sin is in the old testament spelt out by God and given to Moses as the Ten Commandments. In the new testament, Jesus made it easier for us to remember by summarizing the ten. The first is to love God with all you heart and the second is to love your neighbor as you would have yourself loved. 2nd - His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall have eternal life. John, chapter 3:16 "16": For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. And God made that simple for us to understand. That whosoever (keyword) BELIEVETH. Believeth means believeth in all. All encompasses that Jesus is the Son of God and it includes all that Jesus did, and all that Jesus has told us in the scriptures. Not just saying, we believe.
God told us how to right our sin. Leviticus, chapter 6:1-5"1": And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, "2": If a soul sin, and commit a trespass against the LORD, and lie unto his neighbour in that which was delivered him to keep, or in fellowship, or in a thing taken away by violence, or hath deceived his neighbour; "3": Or have found that which was lost, and lieth concerning it, and sweareth falsely; in any of all these that a man doeth, sinning therein: "4": Then it shall be, because he hath sinned, and is guilty, that he shall restore that which he took violently away, or the thing which he hath deceitfully gotten, or that which was delivered him to keep, or the lost thing which he found, "5": Or all that about which he hath sworn falsely; he shall even restore it in the principal, and shall add the fifth part more thereto, and give it unto him to whom it appertaineth, in the day of his trespass offering.
Jesus talked about sin and here is perhaps the most familiar to believers. John, chapter 8:10-12 "10": When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said
unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
Jesus spoke about greed many times and here is perhaps the most familiar to believers. Matthew, chapter 19:24Jesus stated with certainty, "And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God." On that note, I wonder this; Is there a Pope, a C.E.O., or an MP in heaven? I do not condemn anyone and pray that all may find salvation. For as I understand it to be, even the Devil offers eternity. Don't pray for the dead as in life they chose the eternal destiny for their soul. God Bless Us All This link shows some efforts I personally have undertaken in keeping Christianity about Christ.
